I. Rational

Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia (PUC) was established in 2002, accredited by sub-degree No.55 sd.bk, dated 14 June 2002. The purposes of PUC are to contribute to the development of and enhancement of Cambodia’s human capital, and play an active role in the “nation building” process for future generations. Response to the purposes, a new department under faculty of education has recently been established as Life Sciences Learning Center (LSLC) which provides short courses and vocational training for students and in-service personnel to support the quality of education improvement in Paññāsāstra International Schools and other private schools. Additionally, LSLC aims to work closely with professors, students, and all PUC departments to ensure that students enjoy learning while enabling them to seek volunteer, internship, and job opportunities inside and outside the university.

II. Objectives

The courses will be able to:

  1. Provide professional training as short courses for students and in-service personnel
  2. Strengthen capacity building of in-service personnel of Paññāsāstra International School and other private setting
  3. Improve the quality of education in Paññāsāstra International Schools
  4. Boost high employment rates among PUC students and the public
  5. Generate more income with existing resources of PUC

III.  Target Group

  1. In-service personnel of Paññāsāstra International Schools
  2. In-service personnel of Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia
  3. Private companies/institutions
  4. Local and International NGOs
  5. Graduates and students
  6. Others

V.  Courses

LSLC will provide four short courses:

  1. Becoming Professional School Counsellor for 10-weeks-90 hrs-6 credits (9 hours/week; 3 hours for Saturday and 6 hours for Sunday)
  2. Transforming Teaching Styles for 10-weeks-90 hrs-6 credits (9 hours/week; 3 hours for Saturday and 6 hours for Sunday)
  3. Early Childhood Education for 10-weeks-90 hrs-6 credits (9 hours/week; 3 hours for Saturday and 6 hours for Sunday)
  4. Serving Customers in the Digital Era as a one-day course
